USWNT learns final Olympic group stage opponentHas been drawn with Germany and AustraliaFourth team now confirmed after African play-offsWHAT HAPPENED?
The Olympic football tournament draw took place last month and it produced some incredible groups on the women's side in particular, none more headline-grabbing than that which pooled the USWNT with Germany and Australia. The fourth and final team in the group was yet to be confirmed at that point though, with the final qualifiers in Africa scheduled for early April.

But the USWNT knew it would be facing either Zambia or Morocco, the latter now under the charge of Vilda, the controversial coach who led Spain to World Cup glory last year.
However, he won't be adding an Olympic gold to that title anytime soon as Zambia emerged victorious in the two-legged affair, beating Morocco in extra time in the second leg in Rabat, despite losing the first leg 2-1 on home soil, to join the USWNT's Olympic group.
DID YOU KNOW?
Zambia was not the only nation to secure its place in the Olympic women's football tournament on Tuesday either. There was also a spot up for grabs in the group with Spain, Brazil and Japan and that has been claimed by Nigeria, who beat South Africa 1-0 in the other two-legged play-off.

The Olympic women's football tournament will kick-off on July 25, with the USWNT's first fixture to be against Zambia on that very day. It will have its new coach, Emma Hayes, in charge by then too, with the current Chelsea boss set to oversee her first games in the role in the next international break in early June.
