Why is this relevant to Charlton, I hear you ask?
Well, the recently-relegated Terriers were linked with Addicks boss Lee Bowyer and reportedly “pushed hard” for the 42-year-old to become their manager, although the former Newcastle midfielder pledged his loyalty to the south Londoners and remained at The Valley.
However, in football anything is possible, so the news that Huddersfield have officially moved on and successfully pursued another appointment should be music to Charlton’s ears – Bowyer is yet to lose a Championship game this term with four wins and two draws in six games.
