It is no big surprise that Premier League champions Manchester City dominate the PFA Team of the Year for the 2017-18 top-flight campaign.
Pep Guardiola’s side wrapped up the title at the weekend with five games to spare.
The North-West outfit took an unassailable 16-point lead after their neighbours Manchester United were beaten 1-0 by West Bromwich Albion.
As expected, a number of their players made the PFA team, including Nicolas Otamendi, Kyle Walker, Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva and Sergio Aguero.
As well as City’s stars, Tottenham Hotspur have three representatives in Jan Vertonghen, Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane.
Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea, Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso and Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah make up the first XI.
For the majority of Liverpool fans, they feel that a huge mistake has been made in not including Roberto Firmino.
The Brazilian has had a stellar campaign, particularly in the second half of the season, scoring 24 goals in all competitions, 15 of which have been in the Premier League.
Supporters have been raving about Firmino’s form, which has made him an integral part of Jurgen Klopp’s three-pronged attack.
When it became obvious that he was not included in the PFA Team of the Year, Liverpool fans were not happy.
