Roberto Mancini has been told three of his top transfer targets are not for sale according to talkSPORT.
The Manchester City boss is keen to bring Napoli trio Marek Hamsik, Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi to Eastlands.
Mancini wants to strengthen a squad that will be tackling Manchester United for the Premier League title next season whilst also embarking on their first Champions League adventure.
Building a team capable of holding it’s own in Europe has been the Italian’s main priority this summer especially with captain Carlos Tevez’s on the verge of leaving.
He want’s the Napoli trio to provide the attacking threat that will be lost when Tevez finally leaves the club.
The Serie A club are also heading into Europe’s premier competition and Coach Walter Mazzarri has dismissed any moves for his top players.
He said: “Cavani, Lavezzi and Hamsik will stay at the club. It’s a summer with many rumours, but we have talked to the players and all their parties and they are willing to stay together to work on this project.
“I’ve seen the players excited and that’s very important for the team.”
Mazzarri’s comments will come as a blow to the Italian boss who wanted the trio in before the Community shield game against United on 7 August.
