So after appearing to be the reason behind Joao Cancelo’s proposed move to Manchester City being held up earlier this summer, Danilo has eventually made his way to Juventus.

Pep Guardiola’s side completed the signing of Cancelo just before the end of the transfer window for a reported fee of £60m, and it has now been confirmed Danilo will effectively swap places with the Portuguese star for £34.1m.

City only signed Danilo from Real Madrid a couple of seasons ago for a fee in the region of £26.5m, but he struggled to really nail down a place in the first-team.

After hearing of the 28-year-old’s permanent exit from the Etihad, City fans took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the full-back’s departure.

Many supporters of the Manchester side wished the Brazilian luck on his next step in football, and insisted that he left with their respect.

Indeed, some fans praised Danilo’s work ethic and professionalism and insisted that his presence would be missed at the Etihad.
