Loads of Leeds fans have been discussing the right back position after Luke Ayling’s red card, and over half of fans want Jamie Shackleton to take the spot permanently.
Ayling is a fan favourite at Elland Road and for good reason. The versatile defender gives 110 per cent every time he steps on to the pitch, and it is no coincidence that the Whites’ defence fell apart last season when he got injured.
However, the arrival of Marcelo Bielsa has brought a totally new brand of football to the club, and Shackleton’s pace and ability on the ball might actually make him the better fit.

The teenager is naturally a central midfielder, but deputised at right back during the injury crisis earlier this season.
He was mightily impressive in that right back spot, and Ayling’s red card against Brentford means he will miss the trip to Blackburn after the international break.
Assuming Shackleton fills in at right back once again, it could be very difficult for Ayling to get that spot back given his recent form.
